The charges pressed against former Defence Minister Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim، and the case involving it، was raised to frame Qasim Ibrahim، he said.
The State pressed terrorism charges against the former Defence Minister for possession of dangerous weaponry. Also، he was detained in Dhoonidhoo as ‘he is a threat to the national security’ on the accusations of plotting against the Government in association with other entities.
During the first hearing، the charges pressed against Nazim stated that the analysis report of the Police concluded that several senior officials of the Government were planned to be assaulted or assassinated، which would be lead by the former Defence Minister Nazim and funded by Villa companies.
Villa Companies is owned by the now opposition leading partner، JP Leader، Qasim Ibrahim.
Following the news، Qasim Ibrahim in an interview with his TV media، VTV، said certain people attempted to frame him and tarnish hims name in the case of former Minister Nazim.
“This is was executed by certain people just to frame me. But the truth will be revealed soon. I have not done anything against the Constitution،” Qasim said.
