Haveeru launches long-awaited iPhone app

Haveeru has today released its long-awaited mobile application for the iPhone, giving users a better reading experience on Apple's iconic device than the newspaper or the website. The feature-rich app provides latest news from Maldives and abroad, while enabling readers to view and post comments to the stories in local Dhivehi language. The highlight of the app is its 'Photo Stream' section which allows readers to post live photos of events happening around them. Readers can also view photographs posted by other readers and like the pictures of their choice. Photo galleries and video stories published on Haveeru Online can also be viewed in sections optimised for the iPhone's Retina display. The app, developed by local technology firm Semicolon, supports push notifications in order to keep the readers informed about the latest and breaking news events happening in the country. The Haveeru app for iPhone is available for download on Apple's App Store, and users in the Maldives can also install the app for free from Ell Mobile and SmartPhone outlets. Haveeru plans to launch a similar application for Google's Android operating system this year. Haveeru iPhone app
