Bank of Maldives (BML) reports over 80,000 application submissions via the bank’s Internet Banking over past 09 months.
Moreover, the largest local bank notes applications via their Internet Banking includes requests for services such as account opening, applications for credit and debit card issuance.
Furthermore, BML confirms applications also include requests for BML’s Lui Loan as well as information updates.
BML reports the timeline for the said statistics is subject from March 2020 until December 2020.
Moreover, the bank observed 33% surge in digital applications in 2020 in comparison with the year before.
The bank’s earlier decisions amid Covid-19 pandemic included encouraging its customer base to opt for Internet and Mobile Banking platforms to request for services.
Meanwhile, the bank still maintains ‘contactless’ servicing as Covid-19 remains prevalent.
