BML has provided assistance to the Alif Alif Atoll Bodufolhudhoo School by installing a RO machine to offer safe drinking water to pupils and staff. The assistance is provided through the bank’s community fund.
According to BML, the project’s goal is to supply safe drinking water to the school’s pupils and employees while also eliminating single-use plastic bottles. A commercial RO system and a dispenser were installed in the school so that children and employees have easy access to water.
The winning plan was proposed by Revolutionary Bodufolhudhoo Generation, and Musthafa Ahmed commented, “This project would assist 186 students, teachers, staff, and visitors to the school by providing convenient access to safe drinking water. We hope that this effort will change people’s minds in order to support a more sustainable environment.”
The Revolutionary Bodufolhudhoo Generation also donated reusable bottles for all students and staff as part of the project, aiming to eliminate single-use plastic and promote environmentally responsible practices. The organization will also perform routine checks and maintenance on the machine, filters, and water dispensers to ensure the project’s success and sustainability.
The BML Community Fund is a program to empower individuals and NGOs to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects.
