Saeed hails poll showing strong midterm support for President Muizzu

Economic Development and Trade Minister Mohamed Saeed has welcomed new opinion poll results showing solid public approval for President Dr Mohamed Muizzu halfway through his first term.
In a post on X, Minister Saeed congratulated the President after the latest nationwide survey by Baani found that 62 per cent of voters approve of his performance, giving him a net approval rating of +24 points. The minister described the figures as a significant milestone at the midterm stage.
Saeed said the poll suggests rising public confidence in the Administration’s leadership and reform agenda, noting that the level of support points to broad-based backing across the country.
He also extended his congratulations to President Dr Muizzu in his capacity as leader of the People’s National Congress (PNC), expressing optimism that the President’s vision and commitment would continue to steer the Maldives toward long-term stability and prosperity.
The Baani poll was conducted at the midpoint of President Dr Muizzu’s term, providing an early snapshot of public sentiment ahead of the 2028 presidential election.
