The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued ayellow alerts for adverse conditions for the area between Thaa Atoll and Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
According to the MET Office, the alert will be in effect from 9:30 am until 1:30 pm on Saturday. While heavy rain and thunderstorms and gusts of up to 40 mph are expected during showers, rough seas are also anticipated in the affected areas.
Until 6:00 pm on Saturday, rain and thunderstorms are expected in the southern and central atolls. While some islands may experience heavy rain, the weather is expected to be generally pleasant in northern areas. Seas will be moderately calm, becoming moderately rough during showers in some areas. Rough seas will persist in other regions.
Residents and travelers in the affected atolls are advised to exercise causation due to the weather conditions.
