Former Addu City Secretary General Mohamed Shujau has been appointed as the Acting Secretary General of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM).
The position became vacant following the resignation of Nahil Ahmed Sidheeq last week.
FAM Normalization Committee Chairman Ahmed Zuhoor stated that the decision to appoint Shujau as Acting Secretary General was made based on the advice of the committee members.
Shujau, who has been working in FAM’s Media and IT Department for the past three months, has also been actively involved in the management of the association, Zuhoor said.
He added that a permanent Secretary General would be appointed in consultation with FIFA, with discussions on the matter scheduled for this month.
Shujau previously served as the Secretary General of the Addu City Council for two years and has 29 years of experience in various government and corporate positions. He also served as the General Manager of STO and holds a Master’s degree in Science and Technology.
