As the march concluded, MDP Chairperson Fayyaz Ismail stated that the march demonstrated that Maldivian citizens are ready to do anything required to change the administration.
He said that MDP is forced to take to the streets again as the incumbent administration is working to take away the rights and freedoms secured by the citizens through major sacrifices including injury and loss of life.
He declared that the rights of Maldivians must be protected even if it has to be achieved through bringing changes to the Constitution.
"We need to guarantee another way through the Constitution. In the coming days, MDP will work towards changing the government and to secure people's rights and freedoms through the Constitution," he stated.
