Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Ltd (MIFCO) has held discussions to expand its trade with Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).
JETRO is a Japanese government-related organisation that promotes mutually beneficial trade and investment relations between Japan and the rest of the world. Originally established in 1958 to promote Japanese exports abroad, JETRO's core focus in the 21st century has shifted toward promoting foreign direct investment into Japan and helping small to medium size Japanese firms maximize their global export potential.
The discussions were held as part of MIFCO’s high-level delegations’ official trip to Tokyo, Japan. The discussions focused on expanding MIFCO’s trade in the Japanese market and identifying areas of collaboration where JETRO can assist MIFCO in its objectives.
MIFCO was represented by its strategic consultant, Athif Shakoor and Corporate Affairs General Manager, Aminath Saniyya Shareef. Furthermore, a delegation from Maldives’ Embassy in Japan was also represented by Maldives’ Deputy Ambassador to Japan, Ahmed Adil and Second Secretary, Hawwa Samha.
This meeting form part of MIFCO's efforts to expand its product visibility and reach in key international markets.
MIFCO is working to promote its products in various markets around the world. In this regard, the company also participates in international fairs to showcase and market its products.
