Indian citizens are serving in all islands of Maldives : Akhilesh Mishra

Indian Highcomissioner to Maldives H.E Akhilesh Mishra have said that Indian citizens are serving in all islands of Maldives.
He made this while speaking at a flag hoisting ceremony held this morning to mark the 68th Republic day of India. He said that Indians are serving in all schools and hospitals of Maldives. Hence, there is no island where the services of Indians are not received.
“In schools, they work to build the next generation of Maldivians. In hospitals, they work hard to save the lives of Maldivians” said the Highcomissioner.
In addition, he noted the role of Indian investors in developing the economy of Maldives. Also, he noted the service of Indian Navy and Army officers in various sectors of Maldives, especially in maintaining the safety and security of Maldivian territorial waters.
The Highcomissioner said that the relation between Maldives and India is very strong and it can be seen from the hospitality received when he or any other person visits islands of the Maldives. “I have been living in the Maldives only for 1 year. In this year I have visited many islands of Maldives. From each island, I get a warm welcome. They welcome us as if we are their brothers and sisters” said the ambassador.
He asked the Indians in Maldives to serve Maldives with the same spirit they serve India.
