Minister of Economic Development, Mohamed Saeed has been appointed Head of this year’s Maldivian Hajj pilgrims or Ameer Al-Hajj.
The announcement was made by President’s Office this Tuesday.
The Ameer Al-Hajj for last year was the Speaker of People’s Majlis, Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed.
1,000 Maldivians will be performing the Hajj pilgrimage this year; 700 of whom will be escorted by Maldives Hajj Corporation and 300 of whom will be escorted by three private Hajj groups.
