MDP and I want the government not to be corrupted: Nasheed

Former President and Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed has said that the government needs to deal with corruption cases without any bias.
In a tweet last night, the President of MDP, who has been openly criticizing the government, said that he and the party want ordinary things. That is for any government to be just and corruption free without any differentiation.
Nasheed said that investigating the corruption in MMPRC and the corruption related to ventilators that took place during the current administration would gain public confidence.
In a message sent to the WhatsApp group of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) last Saturday, Nasheed called on MDP members to leave the government.
"The best way for this party right now is not to join a failing government," said Nasheed.
The rivalry between Nasheed and President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has intensified again as the chairperson election is scheduled to be held on April 14.
Although the two presidents did not publicly endorse any candidates, Nasheed backed North Maafannu MP Imthiyaz Fahmy (Inthi) while President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih shows support to his closest minister, Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail.
