Chinese Ambassador Wang Fukang has said that the China-Maldives Future-Oriented All-round Friendly and Cooperative Partnership relations have been growing smoothly.
He made this remark at the closing ceremony of early childhood play and development program.
“With the support and care of our two heads of state, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Maldives President Yameen, the China-Maldives Future-Oriented All-round Friendly and Cooperative Partnership relations have been growing smoothly, China and Maldives are jointly promting building the 21st century Maritime Silk Road,” he said.
In addition to this, the Ambassador said that Chinese Embassy partner with ARC and other major disability organizations in Maldives also funded the Child Advocacy Network of Disability Organizations, which we all know as “CAN DO”.
“Last December we publicly announced this project and the first documentary to advocate the rights of children with disabilities. As a unique network, “CAN DO” provides a platform to exchange idea on the rights of children with disabilities, to raise awareness, and to advocate for their rights,” he said.
He added that througout the year of 2015, they will hold panel discussion, conduct workshops and training, launch a website and many other kinds of activities.
“Now with the great effort of ARC and Chinese embassy, “CAN Do” is playing an essential role in advocating rights of children with disabilities in Maldives,” he said.
