Chairperson of MDP, Ali Waheed has said that the government is trying to erase even the name of the founder of Villa Foundation and the leader of the Jumhooree Party, Gasim Ibrahim.
He made this remark at the press conference held yesterday at Adhaalath Party office by the “Maldivians, against Tyranny” movement.
Ali Waheed said that Gasim managed and succeeded the largest the most ethical company operating in the Maldives. He said that he is the philanthropist who assisted most Maldivians and he is the only individual who provides most services to Maldivians.
“He has helped build teachers, nurses, doctors and people from every field. He has helped thousands of people who need medical assistance. The government is trying to destroy him and even erase his name like how it was done to Gulhi Easa Kaleygefanu,” he said.
Ali Waheed urged all those who love Gasim Ibrahim to participate in the Mayday rally wherever they are.
He called all the supporters and family members of former Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim and all the veterans charged with terrorism to come out to the streets to participate in the Mayday rally.
