Former President Mohamed Nasheed’s lawyer Hassan Latheef has stated that President Abdulla Yameen made a false comment saying that Nasheed’s surgery is set for 19th April 2016.
On a tweet posted following President Yameen’s speech at Gaaf Alif Gemenafushi، Hassan Latheef said that the doctors have not advised nor set a date for Nasheed’s surgery yet.
President Yameen، during his speech، said that Nasheed was set to undergo the surgery on 19 April in UK and conveyed well wishes for a successful surgery.
Following which، Uz. Hassan Latheef said the claims by President Yameen were false and that the doctors have not notified of a surgery as of now.
In reference with the doctors’ reports on resuming the medical treatment of Nasheed، Hassan Latheef said the doctors only mentioned regarding the resuming of the treatment on April 19، but not about a surgery or an operation.
