Islamic University to train 40 teachers for Excel International School

Islamic University of Maldives has signed an agreement with Excel International School to train 40 teachers for the school from the university.
Speaking at a ceremony held this morning to sign the agreement, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of IUM Hawwa Latheef said that since Islamic University trains teachers for all levels, hence this agreement will benefit the school a lot.
The scholarships will be given to those who are interested in teaching at Excel International School. The field of studies include 20 scholarships in Bachelor of Primary teaching, and 20 scholarships in Diploma in Early Childhood Education. Excel International School will provide financial aid to conduct these courses.
The length of the agreement is 5 years. Hawwa Latheef said that they will officially publish it on the gazette sometime today. She said that the agreement will benefit both Excel International School and Islamic University. She said that exchanging teachers and providing technical assistance will benefit both the institutions.
The courses of Islamic University are in line with the teachings of Islam and hence all the students of IUM will get this type of teaching. Hence, when they become teachers in future, it will benefit the students as well.
