The Minister-Chairman of the Palestinian Higher Council for Youth and Sports, His Excellency General Jibreel M. M. Al Rajoub paid a courtesy call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning, at the President’s Office.
At the call, the President welcomed the Minister-chairman to the Maldives and conveyed good wishes to the President of Palestine, His Excellency Mahmood Abbas.
The President noted that the Maldives values the historical and brotherly relations between the two countries, and expressed the Government and people of Maldives’ continued commitment to support the Palestinian cause in the International fora.
The Minister-Chairman expressed sincere gratitude for the cooperation extended by the Government of Maldives and commended the Maldivian Government for the swift development brought to the people and to the Maldives.
The President and the Minister-Chairman expressed great anticipation to see the football match between the Maldives and Palestine scheduled for today.
The President was accompanied at the call by the Minister of Youth and Sports, H.E. Ms. Iruthisham Adam and the Minister of State for Foreign Relations, H.E Mr. Mohamed Naseer. The Minister-Chairman was accompanied at the call by the Non-resident Ambassador of Palestine to Maldives, H.E. Dato Anwar H. Al Agha.
