Rabarey’s murder was a ‘hit’ financed by Maldivian businessman- Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan authorities reveal that, 28 year old Hussain Razeen’s (Rabarey’s) murder was a ‘hit’, financed by a Maldivian businessman.
Sri Lankan authorities told Sri Lankan news paper Sunday Times that, the businessman who finances the hit on Razeen wanted him dead, to avenge the death of his brother, who was allegedly killed by Razeen.
The newspaper did not reveal who this businessman was, but did reveal that the ‘hit man’ was offered 140 million Sri Lankan Rupees or 15 million Maldivian Rufiyaa, for the hit on Razeen.
The man arrested for the murder of Razeen is mentioned as a Maldivian named, ‘Bilal’. The police said that Bilal has confessed to the crime and detailed how he executed the crime.
The police told Sunday Times that Bilal, repeatedly stabbed Raheem eight times inside the van while the Sri Lankan accomplice pinned him to the seat.
“They had photographed the victim who was nearly dead and sent it via mobile to the Mladiviain businessman who had transferred Rs 500,000 and promised to send the balance at the end of the month’, the police told Sunday Times.
Razeen has now been buried after police investigations. A team from the Maldivian police service is also working with Sri Lankan authorities in the case.
Razeen was one of the suspects in the murder of Ali Ishaar (Choatey) in December 2, 2007. However, he was released due to lack of evidence to press charges against him.
