Maldivian brings in newest addition to fleet

National airliner Maldivian has added another aircraft into its fleet.
The 50-seat, Dash 8-300 aircraft was brought in to the Maldives today from Billund, Denmark. All efforts on bringing in the aircraft were conducted by the Maldivian employees from Island Aviation.
Including the new addition, the Maldivian fleet now consists of eight Dash-8 planes and two Airbus planes - 10 in total.
The new aircraft will be used for domestic flights as well as flights to Trivandrum, India.
According to Island Aviation, a new plane was brought to keep on par with demands - due to the expansion of airports in the country, as well as the increase in travelers and destinations.
Island Aviation also provides seaplane services, in which they operate six planes.
