The Maldivian Under-16 national football team fell out of the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers, following a 3-0 loss to hosts Palestine.
Palestine scored all three goals in the first half of the Group A match.
This was followed by two other dismal matches on September 16 and September 18, where the Maldivian team lost to Uzbekistan by 8-0, as well as to Yemen by 6-0 respectively.
While a total of 42 countries from the Asian region contested in the tournament, Maldives was placed in Group A with Palestine, Yemen and Uzbekistan. There are 11 groups in total.
