Maldives Hajj Mission has announced that a Maldivian hajj pilgrim - who was reportedly missing - has been found safe and sound.
The pilgrim is Ahmed Zakariyya (from Mathimaradhoo, Laamu Gan), who is under the sponsorship of the state-owned Maldives Hajj Corporation.
He was found in a hospital at around 10:45 a.m. (Maldivian time) today, and is now safely at his designated tent in Mina with the rest of the other pilgrims who are sponsored by the Hajj Corporation.
Ahmed was reported missing by his family sometime yesterday afternoon, after he had competed throwing stones at the jamarāt. According to them, he completed the ritual, headed back to the tent and headed out again, after which his whereabouts remained unknown. They added that although they were able to contact him and find out of his location, he was not found by the time the search party went there.
