The Maldivian women’s volley team faces bitter defeat in their first match in the ongoing Indian Ocean Island Games 2015 in Réunion.
The team was defeated by Magadascar by three straight sets.
Madagascar won the three sets, 14-25, 12-25 and 16-25.
After the match, Maldivian coach Ibrahim Jaleel said that the height of Madagascar’s players was a winning advantage. He said that their advantage in height meant difficulties in blocking their shots.
Captain of the national volleyball team Shaffa agreed.
“However, we could have generated a better result with more practice”, Shaffa said.
