Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon presented information to the diplomats in Sri Lanka regarding the the explosion on the presidential speedboat, the arrest of Vice president Ahmed Adeeb and the current political condition of Maldives.
Foreign Ministry revealed that the information was presented to the diplomats earlier today.
Dunya said that an investigation is ongoing into the speedboat blast and that a clear motive, whether terrorism or political cannot be stated before the end of the investigation.
She said that there was no division in the government following the incident, and that President Yameen’s popularity has grown after the incident.
Dunya also clarified the reasons for the arrest of VP Adeeb following the incident.
She explained the situation in Maldives, especially the condition of the Tourism sector.
