Police have launched an investigation into a case in which three Israeli tourists assaulted a Maldivian.
According the Police Media Officer, the attack took place yesterday evening at Kaafu Thanburudhoo, adding that no one had been arrested from the incident.
Vnews learned that the assaulted Maldivian was working as a Surf Guide.
The three Israeli tourists were taken to Himmafushi police station for questioning, and was subsequently released. They were then sent back to their home country, and were restricted from visiting the Maldives.
Details of the cause and severity of the injuries sustained by the Maldivian have not been clarified as of yet.
