Dh. Meedhoo MP and MDA President Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has urged Maldivians to reject corruption in all its forms, warning that participation in theft or misuse of public resources leads to societal ruin and divine punishment.
In a post on X marking International Anti-Corruption Day, Siyam emphasized that Islam strictly forbids stealing and commands honesty and justice. He said those who engage in corrupt acts, even indirectly, risk severe consequences in the afterlife.
Siyam advised all leaders entrusted with running the institutions of the Maldivian State, along with all citizens to refrain from the heinous act of theft.

“On International Anti Corruption Day, I urge our community to reject all forms of corruption. Islam commands honesty and justice, and corruption is a grave sin. Let us choose integrity and uphold our faith,” Siyam wrote.
He also reiterated his earlier calls for institutions to take stronger action against corruption. In his Republic Day address last month, Siyam warned that the Maldives is facing a difficult economic period and urged authorities to protect state assets and prevent financial misconduct.
Siyam’s message aligns with his longstanding advocacy for ethical governance and national integrity.
