Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer has stated that Maldives still remains as a peaceful and secure destination for tourists.
Speaking in Raajje Miadhu Minister Zameer said that Maldivian resorts were safe, secure and isolated from the political events occurring in Male’. He also said that outside parties were misled due to falsified reports.
Minister Zameer admitted that there will be some challenges facing the sector due to the national issues. He added that the Government was working with the relevant bodies, such as MATI to ensure that the damages were mitigated.
Maldives is renowned for the natural beauty, with many resorts taking top industry prizes internationally.
