First Lady underscores need for collective effort to advance national reform

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has emphasised the importance of collective effort in advancing national reform, highlighting the need for unity in building a more inclusive society. She made the remarks at a ceremony held by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to present employment letters to persons with disabilities.
Addressing the event, the First Lady stated that working together is essential to ensuring meaningful progress in the country’s reform agenda, particularly in creating an environment that supports inclusion and equal opportunity. She noted that fostering a spirit of unity among the Maldivian people is vital for the nation’s future.
The First Lady also underscored the transformative impact of employment opportunities for persons with disabilities, adding that the ability to meet one’s basic needs through work can significantly improve lives. She commended President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and the Administration for prioritising the welfare of persons with disabilities, adding that Maldives is headed towards building a society where everyone feels a genuine sense of belonging.
During the ceremony, the First Lady presented appointment letters to 30 new employees with disabilities joining HDC. The event also saw the launch of the “Mithuru”, an AI-powered accessibility feature on the HDC website designed to enhance user experience and improve access to information for persons with disabilities.
