Former Minister of Defence Tholhath Ibrahim Kileygefaanu، Former Minister of Defence Colonel Rtd. Mohamed Nazim، Former Member of People’s Majlis for Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Nazim، who are all serving jail sentences، have been transferred to Prison in Kaafu atoll Maafushi.
The three were kept at K. Himmafushi Asseyri Prison، and was transferred to Special Protection Unit of Maafushi Prison this evening.
Former President Mohamed Nasheed، who is serving a 13 year prison sentence on terror charges is also kept at the Special Proection Unit of Maafushi Prison. However، he is kept separate from the three transferred today.
The three were transferred to Maafushi Prison from Himmafushi، while Vice  President Ahmed Adeeb is kept at Dhoonidhoo Detention Centre، on ‘high treason’ charges.
Ex-Minister Tholhath is serving 10 year prison sentence for abducting criminal court chief judge Abdulla’Gaazee’ Mohamed.
Colonel Rtd. Mohamed Nazim was sentenced to 11 years in prison for possessing military grade weaponry.
Ex-MP Nazim was sentenced to 25 years in prison on corruption charges.
