Health Minister Irthisham Adam has said that the geographical barriers that exist in the Maldives had hampered the sustainable provision of health services across the nation.
Speaking in the ceremony held yesterday in Hulhumale’ Hospital, Minister Irthisham said that the Government aimed to provide health services in all islands in spite of the many challenges the sector faced.
She noted that the achievements made in the field in the past two years was extremely remarkable given the challenges.
Minister Irthisham also noted the close priority given by the President on the health sector of the nation.dr
She said that Hulhumale’ Hospital had introduced many new facilities and services last year, such as dentistry, orthopedics and therapy services.
“The physiotherapy services has been expanded to cater to the increased demand,” she said.
