Proof beyond reasonable doubt that Adeeb had planned explosion: Home Minister

Home Minister Umar Naseer has said that the National Inquiry Commission’s investigation has revealed beyond reasonable doubt that former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb had been implicit in planning, organizing and carrying out the failed assassination attempt on the President, by planting an IED on the Presidential speedboat.
Speaking to the press, Home Minister Umar said that the Commission had uncovered more related issues in connection to the assassination attempt.
He said that the commission had unearthed that the fire incident that occurred aboard a speedboat, carrying passengers on September 26th, planned IED in May Day protest, IED near Muleeaage, arms discovery in Himbalhidhoo and sniper from Sri Lanka were connected. Police added that they are also investigating the fire incident that occurred aboard a speedboat, carrying passengers on September 26th, as part of their investigation.
Umar said that work on an IED was done in a Rehendhi flat, on Adeeb’s direct orders, with the firepower to completely wipe out the speedboat and all persons inside the speedboat at the time of explosion.
Umar also said that the day before the blast, Adeeb had traveled to Aarah in the presidential speedboat and spent several hours in the island. He further stated that Adeeb was sick with a cold on the night that he traveled to the island, and that it is unlikely that Adeeb would have gone in to the waters, and that no evidence has proven for it either.
