Tourism Minister، Moosa Zameer has said that although state of emergency has been declared in Maldives، there is no danger for tourists visiting to Maldives and that the security forces will ensure the safety and security of the tourists.
In an interview to Reuters، Minister said that the late happenings in Maldives will not affect the safety of tourists.
Reuters with reference to Minister Zameer reported that، due to the declaration of state of emergency and things happening in Maldives lately، some amount of unrest has been created amongst the tourists.
However، Minister said that work is being done to minimise the bad effects to tourism. Minister also said that work has started in collaboration with international airlines operating to Maldives and tour operators.
While some countries have advised caution to tourists visiting Maldives، Foreign Minister Dunya also has said that there is no danger for the tourists.
