Home Minister Umar Naseer has stated that only criminals were concerned over the current state of emergency.
Speaking to Miadhu, Minister Umar said that even though a state of emergency had been declared, the daily lives of citizens had not been hampered by the situation.
“Firstly, right to assembly in large crowds had been temporarily suspended. This applies only to protests. Secondly, court orders are not required to search places. These two aspects are only concerning to criminals, those who have something to hide,” he said.
Minister Umar said that both the Police and the Army were working tirelessly to protect the public and therefore, easier procedures have to be established for them.
Umar added that the opposition will create all and any doubts possible but stressed that there was no need for the public to be concerned.
