Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Ziyad Bagir has stated that completing the Hajj was easy but the difficulty was in adhering to the Hajj.
Dr. Ziyad said that the actions of the pilgrim post-Hajj were the redeeming quality of the pilgrim. He said that the changes to the pilgrim’s actions after the Hajj determine if the Hajj was a successful one.
Dr. Ziyad added that it was extremely vital that Hajj was completed with minimal fuss, extreme patience and calm.
“The biggest sign that the Hajj was a success, is when the pilgrim returns home and begins to exhibit the changes to their behavior. If this change is not observed, then scholars agree that the Hajj was not a successful one,” he said.
Dr. Ziyad stressed that all pilgrims must use the rare opportunity to the best, adding that developing and strengthening personal values was essential in developing social ties.
Dr. Ziyad thanked and welcomed the Government’s initiative on sending employees to Hajj. He added that this was a clear sign that the government had wished to increase the spiritual growth of the public in addition to corporate development, social and infrastructure developments. He also thanked Hajj Corporation for their initiative in facilitating easy access to completing Hajj.
