The government has announced new scholarship opportunities for students seeking to pursue master’s degrees in South Korea.
The scholarships are offered in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and cover five academic fields across five universities, according to the Ministry of Higher Education.
The eligible fields are:
Gender Equality
Smart City Management and Technology
Global Education Leadership
Tax and Fiscal Policy
Public Management and Administrative Reform
Participating universities include Ewha Womans University, Hanyang University, Korea National University of Education, Korea University, and Seoul National University.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and be under 35 years of age as of April 1 next year. They must also meet the academic and language requirements set by the ministry and the respective universities. This includes a minimum TOEFL score of 570, an IELTS score of at least 6.0, or equivalent English proficiency.
Students who have taken out study loans and are repaying them regularly are also eligible to apply.
Required documents include educational certificates, full transcripts, a copy of the expired national ID card, passport copy, KOICA application form, proof of work experience, medical report, rank certificate, and other relevant materials.
Each program will nominate up to four candidates, with final selections made by the course organizers.
The deadline for online applications is 14:00 hours on November 17, and hard copies must be submitted by noon on November 18.
