Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi has met with the Indian Chief of the Army Staff General Bipin Rawat.
The Defense Ministry stated that the Defense Minister and General Bipin met in the morning of today and discussed the age-old relationship between the two countries in defense and how the relationship can be strengthened even further.
General Bipin and Minister Mariya were joined by Indian Ambassador Sanjay Sudheer and defense attaché from two countries. General Bipin has also met with the Chief of Defense Force of Maldives Abdulla Shamaal. 
The Indian Chief of Army Staff's visit will see him meet with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. He will also meet with cabinet ministers on this trip, according to MNDF.
General Bipin is also scheduled to visit Lh. Maafilaafushi where the Composite Training Center of MNDF's Northern Headquarters is located, before departing back to India on October 4.
