Speaking during the ceremony to award certificates for successful participants of the programme named 'Dhasvaaru', minister Dr Aishath Shiham said over 1,000 students had completed the programme initiated last year. Over 50 percent of the students have already been employed, she said. While 17 percent are still completing the programme, 25 percent are expected to find employment, she said. "This is a huge achievement in just two years," the minister continued. Over 1,100 students had taken part in the programme this year. The programme is designed for students who fail to pass in three subjects in the GCE O-Level examination. The minister also noted that over 40 companies had partaken in the program this year.
