Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has stated that the Maldivian contingent taking part in the Yunnan South Asia Expo 2016.
He made the statement speaking in the press conference held in Hotel Jen to brief the media on the discussions held with the Yunnan Working Group.
Speaking in the press conference Minister Saeed stressed that all businesses have to work hard to ensure that the slots available were fully utilized. He added the fair is not only an advertising platform but a sales platform as well.
Minister Saeed said that the Yunnan expo attracts 3 to 4 million visitors and therefore, one of the best platforms to market the products.
He noted that the products taken by the Maldivian contingent last year were sold within days.
“It is vital that we use these markets to introduce new products. This is a golden opportunity. We have the opportunity to import raw materials and then sell the products in the fair,” he said.
Minister Saeed appealed to business owners to work with the Government to make the best use of the opportunities available.
