A couple was taken to the hospital with injuries on Tuesday, after a lover’s spat escalated into violence.
The incident took place at a private residence in Male’ City, and was reported to the police at around 10:05 am.
The incident resulted in injuries to a 32-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man, who the police said were engaged in a romantic relationship.
Both the man and the woman sustained injuries in the incident, including a stab wound the man sustained to his back.
According to the police, they are both being treated at a hospital.
Police said that preliminary investigative findings show they sustained injuries after a lover’s spat escalated into violence.
The case is under further investigation by the police.
