Maldivian Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed on Tuesday met with his Malaysian counterpart, Mohamaddin bin Ketapi during an official visit to Kuala Lumpur.
Tourism Ministry revealed that discussions were held on furthering the bilateral coordination between both countries to develop tourism through mutually beneficial engagements.
World Tourism Conference (WTC) 2019 is scheduled to take place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 26 – 28 August 2019. The theme of the WTC 2019 is “Beyond Tourism – Beyond Expectation”. It is organized by United Nations World Tourism Organization, UNWTO’s Regional Department for Asia and the Pacific.
The Tourism Ministry also revealed that Minister Waheed will be meeting with senior officials of Limkokwing University during the trip. During this meeting discussions will be held on how the institute can assist Maldives in developing human resource within the tourism sector.
