Health Minister Irthisham dam has said that the Ministry will seek to place measures whereby health care service providers will be held liable to mistakes made during care and medical malpractice issues.
Speaking in the ceremony held at Hulhumale’ Hospital this morning, Minister Irthisham said that if any issues occur, an investigation will be carried out and based on the findings recommendations and measures will be put in place so that the issue did not reoccur again.
Minister Irthishm appealed health service providers to uphold service standards. She noted that the work provided by the service providers was invaluable service based on hard work.
Minister Irthisham added that she will listen to the comments by the public regarding the issues in the health sector, adding that she will focus on improving service quality and quality standards. She further called on all local specialist service providers to provide their service all across the nation.
