Maldives deputy minister in over MVR2 mln graft probe
A police spokesperson said an investigation has been launched into a corruption case involving funds of the Pension Administration Office. He, however, declined to give details. Sources who spoke to Haveeru on the condition of anonymity identified the embattled official as Ahmed Adheem, who serves as a deputy minister for home affairs. He had previously served in a senior post at the Pension Administration Office. Haveeru understands that the alleged corruption was initially identified during an audit of the office. The office then lodged the case with the police.
