Adam Shareef has been appointed as the Minister of Defence and National Security.
T the ceremony held today in President’s Office، Adam Shareef took the oath as minister in front of President Yameen. The oath was administered by Interim Chief Justice، Abdulla Saeed.
President Yameen presented the letter of appointed to Adam Shareef today. Adam Shareef signed the pledge of ministers cabinet today.
Adam Shareef was previously the Head of National Institute for Education (NIE) which is run under the Ministry of Education.
The position of Defence Minister was vacated when Moosa Ali Jaleel who was formerly in this position was dismissed from office on the 14th of this month. Moosa Ali Jaleel was dismissed in relation to a gunpowder shipment imported to Maldives by MMPRC.
