The Maldives Zakat House has announced that it will start accepting Fitr Zakat from the first day of Ramadan.
The Zakat House said that Fitr Zakat can be paid via SMS and online from the first day of Ramadan until 6:00 am on the 27th of Ramadan. However, Fitr Zakat can be paid through BandariPay and FahiPay till the last day of Ramadan.
In addition, arrangements for physical payments have been made to cater to the elderly and those who are not familiar with online forms of paying Zakat. Physical payments can be made at the lecture hall of the Islamic Centre. Counters will be open as follows:
2nd March to 20th March: 9:30 am t0 1:00 pm on working days
23 March to 30 March: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm everyday except Fridays
The Zakat House said cash collection of Fitr Zakat will be arranged by the island and city councils of islands and cities except Male’.
