President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy, to the Prime Minister of Fiji His Excellency Frank Bainimarama, following the destruction caused by the cyclone Winston that struck Fiji.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“The Government and the people of the Maldives and I are deeply grieved to learn of the loss of many lives and injury to many more, as well as the widespread damages and devastation caused to properties by the cyclone Winston that struck Fiji.”
“At this time of national distress, I wish to express our heartfelt sympathy to you, the Government and the people of Fiji and to those who are being directly affected by the cyclone. Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
