No connection between Pres., MMPRC corruption: Home Minister

Home Minister Umar Naseer has said that there was no connection between President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom and the corruption of MMPRC.
Speaking in the President’s Office yesterday Minister Umar, who is also the chair of the National Inquiry Commission, said that President Yameen had allowed a no-holds barred and unencumbered investigation into the blast aboard the Presidential speedboat last September.
“This shows that the President had not connection to the MMPRC corruption and other cases that he has nothing to hide. His political opponents can make any claim in this politically charged atmosphere, but rest assured he has no connection to any wrongdoing,” he said.
Speaking in Thoddoo Island, President Yameen had said that the MMPRC corruption case had come to forefront after the blast aboard the Presidential speed boat and had refuted the claims that he was complicit in the MMPRC corruption.
