White Alert Issued from Ha. Atoll to Th. Atoll as Rough Weather Expected

The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a white alert covering areas from Ha. Atoll to Th. Atoll, warning of adverse weather conditions until 15:30 today.
According to the Met Office, these regions are expected to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by winds blowing at speeds between 22 to 27 miles per hour. Gusts could peak at 45 miles per hour during this period.
Seas in the alert area are predicted to be very rough, with swells likely. The Met Office has cautioned seafarers and others traveling by sea to exercise extreme caution.
The forecast for the next 24 hours indicates scattered thunderstorms across the country, with some islands likely to experience heavy downpours. Winds are expected to blow from the west and northwest at speeds between 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts possibly reaching 45 to 55 miles per hour.
Authorities have also warned of potential tidal swells during high tide, urging residents in low-lying areas and seafarers to remain vigilant and monitor weather updates closely.
