Maldives Police Service (MPS) officers have on Wednesday night raided the residential building of Hassan Ziyath، Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC)، and Ahmed Zuhoor، Minister of Youth and Sports.
Commenting on the matter، Police said they were searching a building for an ongoing investigation. Although did not specify which case.
Reports say the authority raided H. Hiyaakoani، the residential building of Ziyath and Zuhoor، around 21:40 and searched two apartments.
They first searched the second floor and، around 22:00، they reportedly advanced to check the eighth floor where Ziyath’s apartment is located.
No official confirmation has been given yet whether the Police searched Ziyath’s apartment. However، several media reports say that Hassan Ziyath’s apartment was searched. No comment by the media or any officials whether Zuhoor’s apartment was searched.
Police concluded their raid 23:15 and left the building. Forensics team officers were carrying plastic bags containing documents.
