HE Mr. Atul Keshap, new Ambassador of United States of America to the Republic of Maldives, has called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Dunya Maumoon.
At the meeting held at the Foreign Ministry this morning, the Foreign Minister welcomed the Ambassador and congratulated him on his appointment. Foreign Minister Dunya noted the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and the United States and discussed ways of further strengthening the existing ties between the two countries, especially in the areas of climate change, trade and investment, security cooperation and counter terrorism.
The Ambassador assured his commitment to working with the Government in strengthening the relations between the two countries and increasing cooperation between the two countries in various areas that are of mutual benefit.
Foreign Minister Dunya was accompanied by. Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed, Foreign Secretary,. Ms. Fathimath Inaya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Fathimath Liusha, Senior Desk Officer at the Foreign Ministry.
