Home Minister Umar Naseer has said that he has and will always support implementing capital punishment as prescribed in Islam.
Minister Umar said that this was not aimed at one person or a single case, but will be enforced as it is prescribed in Islam. He added that capital punishment was prescribed in Islam as a deterrent to crime and criminals for the overall peace of the society.
He remarked that the perpetrators of the assassination attempt on the President on 28th September will be given the strictest punishment possible under the law.
Minister Umar added that an assassination attempt on the President was one of the biggest crimes and will be punished as such.
