Major General (Retd) B.R.W.M.R.A.B. Thoradeniya, the new High Commissioner of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Maldives has called on
Dunya Maumoon, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning, Minister Dunya welcomed the High Commissioner and congratulated him on his appointment.
Minister Dunya and the High Commissioner discussed ways of further strengthening and diversifying the existing close relations between the Maldives and Sri Lanka. The High Commissioner also assured his commitment to working closely with the Government of Maldives to enhance collaboration in areas that are of mutual benefit to both countries.
The Foreign Minister was accompanied by Dr. Hussain Niyaaz, Additional Secretary and
Ms. Aminath Shabeena, Director, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
